Keynote Address: Developments in Copyright: The View from the Copyright Office

Join Shira Perlmutter, the new Register of Copyrights and Director of the United States Copyright Office, for an overview of the achievements of the Copyright Office over the past year and its strategic goals for the future. This session will describe the Office’s work in implementing the CASE Act and Music Modernization Act; engaging in policy studies and providing expert advice to Congress; and modernizing its registration, recordation, and public records services. In addition, Register Perlmutter will outline priorities for the Office going forward, including continuous modernization and making the copyright system more understandable and accessible to all.
