Shannon Sorensen is Vice President of Government Affairs and Counsel at the National Music Publishers’ Association in Washington, D.C. Her work focuses on advancing the music publishing industry’s legislative and policy interests before Congress and the executive branch. Shannon was part of the team that crafted the Music Modernization Act, and was a head lobbyist who moved the legislation through Congress with unprecedented support and unanimous votes in both Houses.
She joined NMPA in 2017 after working for Congressman Chaffetz (R-UT) handling House Judiciary Committee issues ranging from intellectual property, criminal justice, and immigration. Shannon is a graduate of Brigham Young University and earned her J.D. cum laude from J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2015.
